- Demo and full version are now the same version. You simply
unlock the demo version with a serial key.
- Windows 2003 and Windows XP SP2 support added and fully
tested.
- Added KILOBYTES/second information for each socket in the
display. Allowing you to see the speeds each socket on your system is
sending and receiving.
- Added another fix to socket spy when closing the window
when it is minimized
- Updated country database (30% bigger), should now cover
even more countries.
- Reduced memory impact of Port Explorer on your system, in
some cases a 20 fold decrease in physical memory utilization.
- Added ability to show either local and/or remote traffic in
the window log.
- Added better IPv6 socket detection in the main list and in
socket spy.
- Fixed bug in WHOIS utility when the whois server returned
too much data.
- Hundreds of minor bug fixes and tweaks to increase
usability, stability and reliability of Port Explorer.

- Now fully compatible with Windows 2003.
- Many dialogs will now auto-close and reopen when you want
to view information about another process/socket.
- Process List utility added, with added ability to use it in conjuction with socket spy.
- The Process Viewer window now also shows the full commandline (NT/2K/XP/2003 systems), using the same trick that the DiamondCS CmdLine utility uses.
- Socket Spy data format changed to be faster and make the capture.bin file more compact.
- Bug fixed in Socket Spy when corrupted headers are detected.
- Socket Spy now remembers column widths and orders.
- Added optional path for the logfile in registry (read helpfile "Tips and Tricks" for more details).
- Fixed a rare bug that was caused by looping parent and child processes.
- Lots of misc. small additions, tweaks and speedups.

- Fixed a problem to do with the program K9 which reported the incorrect proxy settings in the window log due to the methods used by K9.
- Fixed a GUI issue when the user had fonts that were larger or smaller than normal.

- Added automatic IP-to-Country resolving of all remote IP addresses (there is now a Country column in the main display, file log, and window log).
- Added IP-to-Country capability to the Lookup utility.
- Resolve Utility now uses the IP database to locate countries (more accurate than the previous method).
- Fixed a possible lockup which could occur on 2K/XP machines with process resolving.
- Fixed a possible lockup during shutdown.
- Fixed a possible crash in Lookup dialog when searching for items not in the database.
- New evaluation version has more features enabled, including the Socket Spy packet-sniffer.
- Each resolve thread now has its own controller.

- Added new Bandwidth Throttling feature for sockets and processes allowing you to restrict how much data is sent per second.
- Increased speed of Ping and Traceroute, also making traceroute display more information.
- Recoded address resolving, making it faster and more accurate, also reduced memory used and thread count.

- Reduced disk access everytime a socket was updated which helps when running with other programs and overall CPU usage.

- Fixed a possible bug in which memory for a socket may not be released.

- Stopped a DLL being used by Port Explorer when on operating systems other than Windows 95, decreasing memory
usage on all other Operating Systems.

- Some Windows XP users reported 'menu
blackening'. This was caused by Windows XP stealing the menu brush handle,
but we've developed a workaround.
- Added UDP remote address and remote port information (you can now see DNS
lookups and other UDP-based IP addresses).
- Fixed a rare problem where in some
circumstances people were unable to run the EXE due to a strange issue in
the anti-debug routines.
- "System" socket detection is now more reliable, fixing problems some people had where all sockets
appeared as system ones.
- The closing-down dialog now hides
the main window, and also fixed a possible problem that may occur if the user clicked
Exit twice in quick succession.
- Fixed packets and bytes sent/received being incorrect in rare cases.
- Added "double-click" to
the main
display to show properties of the selected process.
- German translation added.
- Updates to helpfile - translators section
updated, OS Specific Notes updated, and this page added.
